Pattie Garrett is a nutritionist who believes that food is beautiful.
Pattie picked up her first camera immediately upon retiring and discovered her new passion, food photography. She began photographing the seasonal harvests at the farmers’ market. Pattie’s photos found a home in her food blog, My Saratoga Kitchen Table, where the focus is on local food, the people who grow our food and how to prepare the food found at area farmers’ markets.
Pattie is embracing a new challenge, still life photography, using light to bring out a soft illumination with dramatic shadows. Maybe this has something to do with her love of art museums and all those art history classes in college.
Numerous classes through Saratoga Arts and The Arts Center of the Capital District help Pattie develop her skills and find community among fellow photographers. This is particularly helpful as she moves from blogger to exhibiting her photography in area galleries.
